Introduction
The Academy of Underwater Arts and Sciences (AUAS) is a global, multidisciplinary nonprofit devoted to honoring innovators and leaders who have made significant contributions to exploring, enjoying, protecting, and improving safety in the underwater environment. AUAS supports its members in passing stewardship of the oceans to future generations.
Zale Parry Scholarship — Eligibility
- Must be a resident of the United States or Canada.
- Must hold a certified scuba diving credential.
- Must be actively enrolled in a Master’s degree program (doctoral or completed graduates are not eligible) in one of the following diving-related disciplines:
- Aquatic Biology, Ecology, or other Marine Science fields
- Related areas such as Marine Conservation and Education, Diving Medicine and Hyperbaric, Ocean Engineering, or Underwater Archaeology
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a complete packet containing:
- The completed application form (available by selecting SCHOLARSHIP from the menu)
- Resume or curriculum vitae
- A 500-word essay explaining your goals and describing how you would use the scholarship funds
- Two letters of recommendation
- Photocopies of all scuba/diving certification cards

All materials must be received no later than August 31 of the application year. The scholarship recipient is chosen by September 30 each year and will be notified within a few days after selection.
