Introduction
The Foster Children Education Foundation Scholarship provides financial assistance to young people who are currently, or previously have been, in Nevada’s foster care system. Eligible applicants include those who were never legally adopted or were not expected to be adopted, those adopted at age 13 or older, and individuals who were placed with foster families outside Nevada and adopted at or after age 13.

The Nevada State Education Association (NSEA), working together with elected officials and members of the community, is proud to award two Loretta Harper Reach for the Stars scholarships. NSEA especially encourages students pursuing degrees in education to apply, but applicants from any field are welcome—support is not restricted to education majors.

- Must be a graduating senior or a graduate of a Nevada public high school.
- Must be enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, a Nevada-accredited:

This scholarship supports the college education (undergraduate or graduate) of first-generation young women, under age 25, who trace their heritage to Portugal, Mexico, Central America, or South America and who live in Nevada or Hawaii. For the purposes of this award, “first-generation” means either (a) a young woman who immigrated to the United States and has become a naturalized citizen, or (b) the daughter of an immigrant from the listed ancestries.
