Nevada Promise Scholarship

Overview The Nevada Promise Scholarship is a last-dollar program established by the Nevada Legislature that helps Nevada high school graduates attend community college for little to no tuition. It can cover up to three years of tuition and required fees that are not already paid by other gift aid. Important dates and next steps If you are in the Class of 2026, submit your application during the open window: August 1 through October 31. Be sure to complete every required step and maintain any ongoing obligations to keep your eligibility. Eligibility for the 2025–2026 application cycle To qualify for the 2025–2026 Nevada Promise Scholarship application cycle, you must meet all of the following: - Be a Nevada resident as defined in Title 4, chapter 15 of the Board of Regents Handbook. - Not have previously earned an associate or bachelor’s degree. - Satisfy one of these educational criteria: - Graduated from a Nevada public or private high school; OR - Graduated from a border-county public high school that accepts Nevada residents; OR - Completed a State Board of Education–approved high school equivalency (GED, HiSET, or TASC) pursuant to NRS 390.055 before turning 20 years old. - If you were homeschooled, you must complete a high school equivalency exam (GED, HiSET, or TASC) by June 15, 2026. - Plan to enroll in at least 12 credits during the fall term after graduation, in one of the following program types: an associate degree, a bachelor’s degree, or an eligible certificate of achievement. If you meet these conditions and follow the application timeline and program requirements, you may be eligible for Nevada Promise support to reduce your community college tuition and mandatory fees.
