Payette Sho-Ping Chin Memorial Academic Scholarship

Introduction
The Payette Sho-Ping Chin Memorial Academic Scholarship awards $10,000 to support a woman pursuing architecture in a NAAB-accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program. In addition to the financial award, the recipient will be paired with a senior Payette mentor for the duration of the scholarship year to help build professional connections.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet all of the following:
- Identify as a woman
- Hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
- Be a U.S. citizen
- Be a student in a NAAB-accredited architecture program who is either a rising 3rd- or 4th-year undergraduate or a graduate student
Previous recipients of the Payette Sho-Ping Chin Memorial Academic Scholarship may reapply in later years.
Application requirements
Candidates must provide the following materials:
- A 1,200-word essay addressing how architecture and architects can enhance the human condition and quality of life
- A professional resume
- Two letters of recommendation
- A portfolio containing 5–15 works
