CAS Trust Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Casualty Actuarial Society
Purpose
The scholarship seeks to promote student interest in the property/casualty actuarial field and to motivate candidates toward obtaining CAS credentials.
Eligibility
All of the following criteria must be satisfied for an application to be considered:
- Complete every section of the CAS Trust Scholarship application by January 31, 2026.
- Be enrolled full time in a college or university now and plan to remain a full-time student for the 2026–2027 academic year.
- Have taken at least one actuarial exam on or before March 31, 2026.
- Be a member of CAS Student Central.
Applicants who have not previously received a CAS Trust Scholarship will receive preference.
Application Requirements and Process
To apply you must provide:
- The online CAS Trust Scholarship application, including the required essay.
- Two recommendation letters submitted through the application. These should ideally come from people who know you well and can speak to your potential as an actuary. Only two letters will be reviewed.
- An official current transcript. Indicate whether your academic calendar is semester, trimester, or quarter. If the transcript you upload only shows one academic term, also include the official transcript from your previous institution.

Important deadlines and notes
- All parts of the application (including both recommendation letters) must be submitted by January 31, 2026. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure recommenders submit their letters on time.
- Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
- Winners will be notified of award decisions by May 31, 2026.
Award Amounts
Scholarships are awarded based on individual merit. For the 2026–2027 academic year, the CAS Trust Scholarship Program will grant awards of $5,000 and $2,500 to qualified recipients.
