Empowering Students and Local Schools
The Classic Center Cultural Foundation supports artistic growth and excellence by awarding annual scholarships to outstanding high school students in the performing and visual arts. Each scholarship provides the recipient with $2,000 and includes an additional contribution to the student’s high school arts program to help sustain local creative efforts. Support for the visual arts award is partially underwritten by The Ann and Jack Crowley Scholarship Fund for the Visual Arts.
Who may apply
Applicants must live in one of these Northeast Georgia counties: Athens-Clarke, Banks, Barrow, Elbert, Franklin, Greene, Habersham, Hart, Jackson, Madison, Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Rabun, Stephens, Walton, or White.
2026 Scholarship Applications
Applications for both the Performing Arts and Visual Arts Scholarships are now open. All materials must be submitted online and completed in full by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted.
2026 Visual Arts Scholarship Application
Complete every required online field to submit an application. Finalists will be chosen by a jury of local artists. Final scoring will be weighted: 20% based on the application and 80% on the juried art exhibition. Visual arts scholarship support is provided in part by The Ann and Jack Crowley Scholarship Fund for the Visual Arts.
Important dates and event details
- Application deadline: 5:00 p.m., March 13, 2026 (no exceptions for late applications).
- Juried art exhibition: April 13, 2026. Specific times will be assigned in late March; all applicants will receive notifications by email.
- Scholarship presentation: winners must be available to attend The Classic Center Cultural Foundation’s Celebration of the Arts Gala on July 17, 2026. Failure to attend may result in forfeiture of the award.
Required documentation and conditions
- Proof of high school enrollment: submit an official high school transcript.
- A letter of recommendation from a visual arts instructor.
- Residency within one of the eligible Northeast Georgia counties (see list above).
- Availability to participate in the juried exhibition on April 13, 2026 and to attend the Gala on July 17, 2026.
- Applicants may not be immediate relatives of any employee or board member of The Classic Center or The Classic Center Cultural Foundation.
