Intro The Folsom Concert Association offers Performing Arts Scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend college or a junior college and pursue careers in the performing arts. Eligible pathways include vocal or instrumental music, theatre or film acting, technical and production roles in theatre/film/music, theatre business, dance, or preparing to teach in any of these disciplines. 2026 Scholarship Program — Applications Open Applications for the 2026 Performing Arts Scholarships are now being accepted. Review the qualifications and application instructions below before applying. Complete the 2026 application by the deadline: Friday, March 6, 2026. Awards will be announced in Spring 2026 and apply to the Fall semester. Eligibility To qualify for a Folsom Concert Association Performing Arts Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following: - Have been accepted for enrollment at an accredited junior college, college, or university in one of these areas: - Music: voice or instrumental performance - Theatre: acting; theatre technology (lighting, audio, set design, stage management, costuming); directing - Film/Television/Radio: acting; video production and editing; directing; sound engineering, recording, and reinforcement - Dance - Education: preparation to teach in any of the areas above - Be actively participating now in high school or regional music (for example, band or choir), performing arts (dance, theatre), or in video/film production. - Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, documented on an official high school transcript. - Be a currently enrolled high school student within one of the following school districts (or live inside those school boundaries while attending a WASC-accredited school): - Black Oak Mine Unified School District - El Dorado Union High School District - Folsom Cordova Unified School District - Rocklin Unified School District - Roseville Joint Union High School District - San Juan Unified School District - Any high school located in Sacramento County Alternatively, a 12th-grade student who resides inside the enrollment boundaries listed above may be eligible if enrolled in: - A WASC-accredited public or private high school; or - A homeschool program affiliated with a WASC-accredited high school. Required Application Materials Along with the online application, the following documents must be uploaded to a Google Drive or Dropbox folder; include the shared link in your online application. - Essay: A one- to two-page response to this prompt: “What impact would you like to make on society through your work in the performing arts?” - Letters of Recommendation: Two letters that specifically address why the applicant should be chosen for the scholarship. - Transcript: Current high school transcript showing GPA and coursework. - Headshot: A high-resolution headshot suitable for publication if awarded. Selfies are not acceptable. A solid, plain background is recommended. - Demo Samples: Examples that showcase your performing arts skills. You may submit up to two video clips (maximum one minute each) plus one audio recording (maximum one minute). Submission Instructions and Notes - Upload all required files to Google Drive or Dropbox and place the shareable link in the online application form. - Ensure transcripts and recommendation letters are current and clearly legible. - Adhere to the March 6, 2026 deadline; late applications will not be considered. If you meet the qualifications and are ready to apply, follow the online application link for 2026 and submit the requested materials by the deadline.
