This year we will be awarding six scholarships in total: - First Place: $2,000 - Second Place: $1,500 - Technical/Trade School Scholarship (third-place): $1,000 - Special Needs Scholarship: $500 — this award was approved by vote at our District Convention - Memorial Scholarship: $500 in honor of the late Past District Governors Angie Yanas and Beatrice Anagnos - Family-sponsored Scholarship: $1,000 contributed by the family of the late Helen Thomas, PDG We are grateful to be able to offer these six scholarships this year.

Introduction The Delaware School Nutrition Association (DSNA) advocates for school nutrition programs across Delaware. Our membership is made up of professionals employed by Delaware school districts that participate in USDA Child Nutrition Programs, including School Nutrition Supervisors/Directors, Nutrition Specialists/Registered Dietitians, School Nutrition Secretaries, Cooks, Bakers, Lead Workers, General Workers, and Satellite Meal Handlers. Overview For over 40 years, the San Fernando Valley Alumnae Chapter has provided nearly $100,000 in tuition support to outstanding students. Each year the Chapter’s Scholarship Committee selects accomplished local high school seniors who plan to continue their education at an accredited four‑year university. Awards recognize students’ academic achievement as well as dedication to community service and leadership. The award traces its roots to the Lawson/Pezo scholarships established in 2005 through the efforts of LaVaughn Lawson, PGM, and Martha Pezo, PP. Eligible recipients receive $2,000.00 each year. Overview Each year GLA awards the Hana Uno Shepard Memorial Scholarship to support a graduating high school senior. The award can be used at any accredited college, university, community college, fine arts institution, or vocational school. In addition to the scholarship, the recipient receives four years of JACL student membership provided by GLA. Overview Each academic year, Texas UPMA provides college scholarships for students who are entering their first year of college or trade school and who are descendants of Texas UPMA members. Recipients are evaluated on academic performance and involvement in extracurricular activities, demonstrated dedication to community service, and confirmed acceptance to college.
